One week from today, there are going to be approximately 11,000 other people running in the St. Jude Marathon and half marathon in Memphis, Tennessee. Here’s a startling representation about the reason why we are running to support St. Jude’s:
You can see from above that the survival rate for my son Joshua’s type of cancer, [...]

There are a few verses that most Christ followers at least sort of know by heart. Verses like John 3:16. Or Hebrews 11:1. Or this one:
“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

The Leukemia Society called again.
Lord willing, we’ll be watching our 10-0 Titans battle Brett Favre and the J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets! this Sunday at LP Field.
It [...]

You can read yesterday’s post here where I began to pose the question about meekness, and what it means.
Today there’s not so much a definition as a picture from the Bible.
There’s a story about the meekness of Abram in Genesis 13. For a while, Abram and Lot had been traveling together, but because of the [...]

That’s not a characteristic we talk about too much. In fact, I’m not exactly sure what it means, but I was curious about it since lots of newer translations don’t even translate the beatitude “Blessed are the meek” any more. Instead, they translate it as “humble” or “patient.” But I think there is something essential [...]

Last night, our family went to Target to fill our Operation Christmas Child shoebox. This is a great organization with a great mission:
Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe [...]
