Today is my 30th birthday, so I’m taking notes here on the One Question Fridays:
“How would you celebrate your 30th birthday?”
**The goal of “One Question Friday” is simple: To show that everyone has something funny, engaging, creative, and worthwhile to say. So comment away! Be real. Be creative. Think hard. And check back to see how others answered the question.
First of all: Happy 30th Birthday!
We celebrated mine by putting up a screen in the back yard, borrowing a LCD projector and making our own ‘drive-in’ theater. We watched Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (one of my all-time favorites), which for a public school teacher, is sort of ironic.
Hope you have a great day!
Happy Birthday!
Since I have been there, done that, I would suggest an extended road trip to see something you haven’t seen before like Mount Rushmore, The Florida Keys, The Grand Canyon — you get the general idea.
Go to Dave and Busters, then watch an SEC football game, and take a nap.
I’m about a decade beyond my 30th Bday, but my answer is true for 30 or 40.
Happy Birthday!
Happy 30th, first off! I hope you weren’t dreading it like I was. But my wonderful wife made it the birthday of the ages for me. She planned a full week of events, some big, some small. Each morning, she gave me a small gift that was a hint of what we were doing that night. For example, she gave me a frying pan (classic!) as a hint that we would take a cooking class that night. She built up in the week until she gave me a guitar Christmas ornament on Friday, which was the hint for taking me to see Andrew Peterson’s “Behold the Lamb of God” live! That was AMAZING!!! Finally, on Sunday, she had a surprise party with my entire family. It was absolutely nuts! Best birthday ever!
Pray for your 31st birthday
It’s something I didn’t do because I wasn’t a Christian at the time. My 30’s were wasted. I would say Don’t Waste Your 30’s.
Happy 30th Birthday!
Pick out a great 80’s outfit and ride around town with the family getting your picture made with a whole bunch of people. Then stop by the skating ring on the way home and have them play your all time favorite “BIG BAD WOLF” by Bunny and the Wolf Sisters as you show off your skating moves.
most likely eating a parfait.
I second Jim’s suggestion, take a trip. You know we’re big proponents of travel. Our friends from Copenhagen turned us onto an amazing place called Antelope Canyon in Arizona. It’s near the Grand Canyon and other stuff, so a good road trip.
wear a Footprints tie and a short sleeved white button up…. oh wait, you are already doing that today. never mind.
I loved my 30th birthday. Fancy hotel, yummy food, sleeping late, hanging with you. Thanks for making it a great one!
Rocky marathon and sleeping in (great one, Jana).
The 30s were a wonderful decade – old enough to be comfortable in your own skin, to be somewhat settled, yet still young. Consider that Jesus began His ministry at the approximate age of 30. What are your plans for the next three years? Not that you can accomplish what He did, but definitely something to think about. As Renee said, don’t waste your 30s!
Vegas, baby!
Just enjoy—-it only gets better!
Oooh, mine is coming up next so maybe I should throw a hint out there for Jay.
Good Job & Thank You Share This….
